TRANSCRIPT (full transcript link)
Hello and welcome to episode number seven of the one-five. I am your podcast hostess - Tricia Louis - the self-designated tech goddess and I will be coming to you weekly in this audio podcast format with great edtech tools, tips, and tricks.
In this week’s episode, I will be talking about Mote. Mote is an audio note tool that allows you to leave voice feedback and other audio recordings throughout google documents, slidedecks, forms and on other places on the web.
Mote works via a chrome extension, but it also does have a website for you to utilize. Simply install the chrome extension and you can begin using your voice. Mote has a tiered pricing plan - you can use the free tier and have up to 20 voice notes per month (that are up to 30 seconds in length). Or you can utilize the individual license that allows unlimited voice notes (that are up to 180 seconds in length). Mote also offers team, school, and district pricing.
Mote allows you to make those connections via voice feedback that are harder to obtain in just text feedback. Mote allows for diverse learners to take advantage of audio playback for task directions or other learning accommodations. And finally mote is a great way for students to convey what they know in audio format - great for checking reading fluency, foreign language learning, and in music classes for voice/instrument recording.
With the paid version of mote, your voice is also transcribed to text and it can be translated into 33 different languages!
I would recommend you give mote a try in your learning space…the power of audio is at your fingertips with just a click of the mote extension.
